Supplementary Figure 2. AgNPs up-regulated NOX4 mRNA levels in HCT116 cells dose dependently. NOX isoforms were detected by PCR using specific primers for NOX isoforms. GAPDH was used as a loading control. NOX4 mRNA was significantly increased by the treatment of AgNPs in a dose-dependent manner but NOX1, NOX2 and NOX3 expression was not detected in HCT116 cells. In addition, 0.2 μg/mL AgNPs significantly increased NOX5 mRNA levels, and 1-25 μg/mL AgNPs gradually down-regulated NOX5 expression dose dependently.
